Background on Dance Moms and Season 7

Season 7 of Dance Moms was highly anticipated after the dramatic exit of Abby Lee Miller in Season 6. Lifetime decided to continue the show without Abby, bringing in Dancing with the Stars’ Cheryl Burke and former ALDC instructor Laurieann Gibson as the new dance coaches.

The season began with some of the familiar faces from previous seasons, including stalwarts Holly, Jill, and Melissa with their daughters Nia, Kendall, and the Ziegler sisters.

New Coaches Bring Positive Changes

Both Cheryl and Laurieann aimed to bring a more positive atmosphere to the ALDC, focusing on building the girls’ confidence from the inside out. Their teaching styles were a departure from Abby’s harsher methods.

While the drama was dialed back from previous seasons, tensions were still evident between the moms. Arguments frequently erupted over perceived favoritism shown to certain girls.

Why Season 7 Is Not on Hulu

As mega fans of Dance Moms, we were totally bummed when Season 7 didn’t show up on Hulu. What gives? Turns out there are a few reasons why the latest season isn’t available to stream just yet.

1. Lifetime’s Joint Venture Channel “LMN”

Since LMN is a new channel, they likely want to keep the latest season exclusive to their network for now to try and gain more viewers and subscribers.

Once Season 7 has aired in full, there’s a good chance LMN will license the rights to Hulu and other streaming services.

2. Dance Moms’ ratings have been declining over the seasons.

While still popular, the show isn’t pulling in as big of an audience as it once did. By keeping Season 7 exclusive to their channel, LMN hopes to draw more viewers back to the show and boost ratings.

If ratings rebound, LMN can likely demand a higher licensing fee from Hulu and others to stream the new season.

3. contract issues between the networks and streaming services

There are many legal and financial details to work out regarding licensing, exclusivity windows, and how long a season remains solely on a network before streaming is allowed. Unfortunately, as fans this is out of our control!

The good news is, while we impatiently wait, we can rewatch our favorite episodes from the first 6 seasons of Dance Moms – the drama and chaos never get old! Do you think Season 7 will eventually make it to Hulu and other streaming platforms?

We sure hope so! The latest season looks as crazy as ever and we can’t wait to watch the team take on new competitions and adventures.

How to Watch Dance Moms Season 7

As die-hard Dance Moms fans, we were devastated when Season 7 didn’t show up on Hulu like the previous seasons. Turns out the network, Lifetime, decided not to renew their streaming deal with Hulu, leaving us in the lurch.

You can buy individual Mom episodes on Amazon, iTunes, or Google Play for a few dollars each. Or get a full season for around $20. Then you own them to watch anytime.

Streaming services like Sling TV, YouTube TV or Philo have Lifetime, so you can watch new episodes live or on demand. But you pay a monthly fee starting at $20-30.

The most dedicated fans may want to simply tune into new episodes live on Lifetime. You can’t binge, but you join the social media buzz without spoilers. Lifetime also airs reruns before new seasons so you remember what happened.

Wrapping Up

So there you have it, Dance Moms fans. The drama with Abby Lee Miller and her legal troubles seems to be the reason Season 7 isn’t available on Hulu yet.

Let’s keep hope alive that once all the legal issues get resolved, Season 7 will make its way to Hulu. Until then, we’ll have to settle for rewatching the previous seasons for the hundredth time!
